After reading a review of a Berndes skillet in the New York Times I asked for one for Christmas. I have since purchased two more different sizes. The rest of my cookware is AllClad, which is wonderful, but these skillets replace all the non-stick ones I had. The ceramic coating comes without the health concerns that teflon and other non-stick coatings may have. Clean-up is easy, no soaking or scrubbing necessary. There's also no staining of the beautiful white ceramic coating. I am purchasing a set as a wedding gift for a couple who loves to cook and I look forward to their response. I bought this for the 2013 Holidays cooking season because I needed a non-stick for heavy duty cooking. I'm traditionally a stainless steel cookware user, but it does take more effort to cook eggs and fish in stainless steel, and more effort to clean it up. I have always avoided teflon non-stick because of the fear of chemical contamination. After learning about ceramic being non-toxic, I decided to read reviews and get the best I could get and Berndes seemed like the best. The construction upon inspection was very solid -- on par with my All-Clad stainless steel cookware. It had good weight to it without feeling too heavy. The true test of performance was on white fish and fried eggs (not scrambled) with just a tsp of oil. The Berndes passed with flying colors! I was so impressed by how it performed -- crisping up the edges of the egg whites (how I like it) and the browning of the white fish. Clean up was a breeze -- just warm water and a sponge, no soap needed and very little elbow grease. I highly recommend this cookware!I brought one of the larger pans to my mom's house to help with Thanksgiving cooking. She has an induction stovetop. The Berndes worked great on it. I read another reviewer had trouble with an induction stovetop, but my experience showed no significant difference between coil (my house) and induction (my mom's house).

Not good for induction cook top. Returned product. Manufactures web site lead you to believe that their product was good for induction cook top.
